Former Habs D Hill signs with Swiss team

BIEL, Switzerland (AP) NHL veteran Sean Hill, who helped the Montreal Canadiens win the 1993 Stanley Cup, signed a one-year contract to play for the Swiss club Biel.

Biel said Thursday that Hill will play the upcoming season with the club, which finished first in Switzerland's second division last season and was promoted to the top league through the playoffs.

The 38-year-old defenseman played 876 regular-season games in the NHL since 1992, ending last season in his home state with the Minnesota Wild.
